Janette Manrara
Janette, the Latin sensation pocket rocket, is the new host for It Takes Two on BBC2 and has taken to presenting as naturally as she took to the dancefloor with her confident, friendly and approachable style. Janette has also been the host of Strictly LiveĀ for the past 3 years.
Janette has been part of the Strictly Come Dancing family for 10 years, she is firmly a central member of the Strictly family and is happily married to fellow pro Aljaz. She has successfully partnered with celebrities as diverse as Julien Macdonald, Will Bayley, Ranj Singh and Peter Andre.
Of Cuban origin, Janette was born in Miami it was evident she was born to perform. As a child she attended a musical theatre school then went on to study Finance at Florida International University. Somewhat out of character to the Janette we now know, she worked in a bank for seven years while she continued to train in Ballroom, Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary and Salsa. Since appearing on the extremely popular dance show So You Think You Can Dance she made the leap to full time dance. Janette has performed in the global dance sensation, Burn the Floor, made appearances at the Academy Awards, worked with Jennifer Lopez and starred as principal dancer on Glee. Janette has the incredible ability to fuse all dance styles, creating magical dances that showcase just how diverse and talented she is.
Off the dancefloor, Janette is a Global Ambassador for New Nordic and has worked with brands such as Freemans, FOREO, Disney and this year embarks on several new exciting brand ambassadorships. Janette also has a certification in well-being that she adapts into her everyday life, making wellness a big part of who Janette is.
