Model, writer, brand consultant and public speaker Mia Maugé emerged as a disruptive force in 2020 with her inspiring, relatable and age positive content.
Fed up of being ignored by marketing in beauty and fashion as a midlife woman… Her ‘call to action’ in her IG bio read “Let’s create a silver space for the next generation!”. Within 4 weeks she had garnered a few thousand followers and was scouted by several model agencies.
Today at aged 58, Mia is a role model for all generations, transcending a plethora of topics and conversations around ageing in a youth centred society. She talks about embracing the ‘midlife years’ with gratitude, and inspires her audience of all ages to embrace, celebrate and consciously understand the beauty of ageing by approaching it with vitality and zest.
Motivated by a desire to break barriers in traditionally exclusive spaces, Mia challenges stereotypes related to hair texture, colour, age, skin tone, and body type, as she seeks to challenge the narrative and rebrand midlife.
Mia continuously seeks innovative opportunities to push boundaries and redefine norms, and has worked across an impressive roster of verticals, including beauty, fashion, lifestyle, and travel, to name a few! Mia has worked with an array of notable brands on social media, in-store activations, broadcast and publications, including L’Oréal Paris, Vichy, Ilia, Glossier, Max Factor, MAC, Augustinus Bader, No 7, Channel 4, Barclay’s, Sky/Netflix and Disney. She has been commissioned to appear in panel talks with TikTok, SquareSpace, Publicis Groupe, Burberry, L’Oreal, The Beauty Beat, Social Disruption, Soho House, Elle Mag x Tresemme and Marks & Spencer. There have been many ‘firsts’ including being M&S’s first lingerie model over 50 and even appearing as Disney’s first black, silver haired, middle aged mermaid in the live action ‘Little Mermaid’ film.
